She is absolutely the best!
I had cataract surgery 5 years ago, with lens implants that were suppose to keep me from having to wear bifocals. However, recently my distance vision had gotten worse. There was a2 month wait to get into see the ophthalmologist who did the surgery. My husband suggested I go to his optometrist, Dr Schmidt at Walmart. I got an appointment right away. Her receptionist/assistant started my exam and then Dr. Schmidt did the more in-depth testing. She assured me that all was well and she sent me off with a prescription for distance driving and watching television. They made a huge difference. However, I multitask while watching tv and realized that I should probably had gone with bifocals. I called Dr. Schmidt and left a message asking her if I needed to come back in for a bifocal prescription. She called me right back and said that she could fax the prescription without another trip to her office. Now that’s a very wonderful doctor making my life a little easier. She is Great!

Dr Schmidt is wonderful as is the office and staff
Dr Schmidt is completely relatable and listens to you, doesn't rush you through and works with you on contact selection.

Eye Problem
I called and explained that I was having floaters and blurry vision . Deanne was able to get me in right away to be seen. Dr. Schmidt was awesome at explaining everything. She was concerned with my eye exam and referred me to UVA Opthamology. Deanne even advocated for me to been seen by Uva the next day . Dr. Schmidt was also awesome in advocating for me with the on call Doctor ! I was very impressed with them and how well they truly cared for me and my vision !! Highly recommend!!

She’s the absolute best, I had a great experience. The test was quick and she is a great communicator. My eyes have never felt better

Making an appointment with Dr. Karen Schmidt was easy and fast. Great personality, knowledgeable and did a thorough eye exam. No wait time, very prompt. Highly recommended.
