I strongly caution anyone considering therapy with Karen Dunham. If you are struggling with self-worth, I highly recommend finding a different therapist. During my sessions, I saw very little progress and often left feeling worse. When I told her I deserved love, she outright told me that I didn’t. Not in a therapeutic way, but in a cruel, invalidating, and deeply harmful way. Rather than helping me work through my pain, she reinforced the exact negative beliefs that therapy is supposed to challenge. Therapy should challenge you, but never in a way that makes you feel worthless. No ethical therapist should ever tell a vulnerable client that they don’t deserve love. I left feeling worse than when I started, and I strongly urge others to reconsider before booking with her.This experience was damaging, and I cannot recommend her to anyone. If you’re looking for a therapist who truly supports growth and healing, I suggest looking elsewhere.
