During my second visit for EMDR, Justina's office phone rang continuously without her making any effort to silence it. On my third visit, when it started ringing again and I asked her to silence it, she was unable to do so. Midway through a PTSD regression it began ringing again, I told her I felt unsafe if she couldn't control her own office environment and left her office. I never saw her again. She made no attempt to help me safely out of the aborted regression. Though profusely and repeatedly apologizing for the disruption by email, she yet refused to assure me that she would make sure the phone would be silenced for any future sessions. I deem her to be uncaring and irrational; not caring enough about me as a client to make sure I was safely out of the regression--that I now, five months later, feel 'stuck' in--or to make an effort to silence her phone and irrational in that she refused to silence her phone, a common practise amongst counselors, in my experience.
