Dr. Julie Steck, PHD

Dr. Steck dismissed my concerns with her Asperger’s diagnosis in 2013, namely that it didn’t explain or help my profound academic struggles ever since the second half if high school. It was only after a different psychologist noted attention issues and gave me the ADHD inattentive type diagnosis that I was able to begin to deal with the crippling feelings of failure and shame of having an unappreciated attention issue. I would not have graduated college or had the same opportunities as my peers had I settled on Dr. Steck’s opinion over my own inner wisdom.

I have worked with Dr. Steck for 17 years for guidance with my two sons with autism. Dr. Steck is one of the most highly respected, well-informed and compassionate providers I know. Once she didn't charge me for an appointment because she said she learned so much from my appointment. That's how honest she is and how much she is NOT in it for herself. I am writing this because I was looking for another type of provider and thought the other review was unfair and a disservice to families.
