Dr. John Fidanza, PSY

I am absolutely heartbroken after our visit today with Dr. Fidanza. My child was in tears. I hold her very accountable for her actions when needed but we were there for support and guidance with her anxiety and behavior this man was down right cruel the way he spoke to her. She is only 11 and has struggled for years. We walked out of his office. I hope no other child has to endure the experience we had today. It’s hard enough to talk about mental concerns but to be treated in the manner he behaved no wonder we have so many children and people struggling without support. He should be ashamed of himself. If this was a heart or kidney doctor the doctor would have never said, “well what do you want me to do?! “ as he leaned back in his chair with his arms in the air. I’m beyond disappointed that Ochsner would allow a doctor like this support children in our community.

There's a difference between blunt and abrasive. Dr. Fidanza is unprofessional, disorganized, and controlling. He doles out medication with no refills so I'm always at his office, even though I've been stable for months. He often withholds prescriptions to coerce me into additional services and will not set time frames that work with my schedule. I've often run out of medication due to issues with scheduling. When prescriptions are sent to my pharmacy electronically, there were ALWAYS issues.

Dr. Fidanza has helped me tremendously. He listened to my concerns and was helpful with explainatikns etc. would highly recommend!

I was hesitant to see Dr. Fidanza because of the reviews I read but after out first visit I knew we were seeing the right doctor. Yes he is VERY blunt but that is exactly what our family needed. He has made such a difference in our lives!

Dr fidanza was very blunt and to work with people with anxiety, depression, ADHD etc, I would think you would learn to be a little nicer.

Today I took my brother to see Dr. Fidanza. He was very rude. He talks to his patients like they are uneducated and unimportant. He keep asking why was my brother there. He didn't even refer to his notes. He acted like it was an inconvenience to treat him. He asked me to leave out because my two year old son was crying. He then asked my brother is my son was a special needs child. I would not recommend this this doctor to amyone.
