Fine
I think he has integrity. Kind of reserved at times. I don't believe everything he said but his heart seems to be in the right place. He prescribed cortisone. I used less of it than he said. And I waited to use it until it seemed really needed. He said it was safe, that even babies tolerate it. But ever since I used it, I have fought yeast skin rash, and not necessarily in folds of skin, either. No, in atypical places like the top of feet or top of mammaries. Have fought it for a year with everything possible. I read that cortisone causes it. Sad. I have to stay utterly dry all the time and dry off immediately after water gets on me. I wonder how long this will go on. It is extremely inconvenient & I worry because the yeast areas are getting large & seem to build a tolerance to remedies.

May be pleasant, but that is not the most important consideration. Burns may well be uncomfortable with some body parts. Epidermis covers 100% of the human body. Therefore 100% of the body should be examined. Head, FEET, hands, looking for spots undernails...ALL TEN OF THEM. Please continue your search for a proactive dermatologist that advocates for your very important and largest organ. My parent has an aggressive form of melanoma. I discovered shoes were left on during annual exams. The aged and diabetic population are prone to melanoma on digits. Perhaps Burns needs to brush up on procedure or find a different specialty more in line with his comfort.

Have seen John a number of times. Extremely personable and down to earth. Explains things in easy to understand terms. Also errs on the side of caution. Will continue to see him for my dermatology needs.

John's specialty is dermatology. He is sharp, a good communicator and very thorough. He's batting 1000% with my family -- if he suspects something is problematic (ie. skin cancer) it likely will be confirmed via a pathology report.

I was diagnosed and treated for melanoma a few years ago and was new in town, so I needed to establish care with a new dermatologist for my skin exams. The provider was nice enough, but he kept apologizing for examining parts of my body that would be covered by a bathing suit, so his discomfort caused my discomfort. I had to wait months for the appointment, and my expectation was that I would be getting a FULL BODY skin exam given my history. This was not the case. On to the next.
