Dr. Joe Persinger, PHD

I contacted Joe Persinger as he took my insurance, but, he refused to accept my insurance and instead wanted to see me out-of-network at a much higher rate than I would get reimbursed for through my out-of-network benefits. Further, Joe Persinger ignored my email for about six weeks after speaking to him on the phone and blamed the delay on "misplacing my email"; his excuse was hard for me to believe. I specifically sought out Joe Persinger because he specializes in somatic therapy for complex trauma and trauma in general, and I would have been traveling from near San Francisco to Santa Rosa to work with him, and he engages in these very questionable behaviors that are actually traumatizing. I, too, am a PhD clinical psychologist though currently not licensed, so, I know a bit about our field, and I felt compelled to write this review after this man's behaviors with me that I believe are not respectful of client's/patient's rights, even before beginning therapy with him
