Joan Mance, FNP-BC

Does not listen to the patient. I do not trust her diagnostic capabilities. Seems much more concerned with being right than finding out what the patient's needs are.

Joan Mance is the best nurse practitioner in the Albany area. She is extremely informed and you can tell she wants to help people and loves what she does. She is very intelligent and really wants to help you feel your best. I always recommend her to my friends who need a new FNP!

Joan has been my provider for years and I can't say enough about her. You can tell she cares and does her job with such professionalism. So glad to have her! Recommended all my friends and family to her.

I had my first appointment with Joan Mance after my primary care physician moved to a new position. I found her to be friendly, informed, and easy to talk to.

She walked in the room and immediately things went south. She started asking me questions and when I began to answer her she kept interrupting and speaking over the top of me. She had no interest in my concerns. She gave me an incorrect diagnosis and put me on a medication that I can’t have. Also, she asked for the dates of a bunch of different vaccines. When I told her I had to check real quick she says “if you can’t remember the dates that means you must need them.” And she left the room to go get vaccines. Turned out I didn’t need them. I just had them months prior. If she let me finish or if she looked at my chart she would be able to see that. I am happy she is no longer with my practice, but she shouldn’t be practicing at all.

She was very approachable and intelligent. She had a wealth of knowledge that comes with her experience. She took the time to explain the potential diagnoses in depth and using layman’s terms when needed. She not only took her time but she answered questions and was engaged. She also cares about other matters other than medical, we spoke about my schooling and it was a genuine care. I now take my brother to see her as I have not come accross a provider who can match up with Dr. Mance

Met with Joan Mance for the first time last week for a problem. When she walked in the room right away stated that she had read my chart the night prior. Didn’t want to listen to my problem, but decided that I needed a certain medication that I was ALREADY taking - so much for reading my chart!

Dr. Joan Mance, FNP-BC Saw me on 5-20-18 and issued me a prescription that I told her I could not take. I confirmed this when I got home and called her office for an alternate medicine. Her nurse took a message. it is now 5-21-18 and still no new prescription was issued. A TOTAL WAIST OF MT TIME

I have been seeing Dr. Mance for a couple of years now. She is a great listener, understanding and helpful. She is easy to talk to and feels she is straight forward and knowledgeable. Love her!!!

I found this provider to be very cold and distant. She was unfriendly (the patient was my daughter, a 14 year old) and as this was an initial visit, I would've thought she would do a more thoroough exam and make an effort.
