Dr. Jill Ricke, PHD

Would leave 0 stars if I could. Found her via my health insurer's website, which stated she was an in-network provider. Reached out to her via the email listed on the site explaining that my reason for doing so was the stress of dealing with my husband's recent cancer diagnoses. Her reply? "I am not sure how you got this email but I do not use email to communicate with patients in my practice. I am accepting new patients but I do not take [MY INSURER]." No salutation, no "Thank you for reaching out," not even a perfunctory "I'm sorry to hear this." I informed her that she may wish to contact my insurer as they have her listed, with her email, on their site as an in-network provider. No response, not even "Thank you for letting me know." That this is how she treats someone in crisis reaching out for help should tell you everything you need to know.

I never actually met with Dr. Ricke. I left a voicemail asking to set up an appointment and she never returned my call. That is really not the way a doctor, especially a therapist, should treat people.

I saw Dr. Ricke for almost a year and she helped me immensely. Definitely the best relationship I've had with a therapist. She really knows what she is talking about and is exceptional at communicating with patients. She recognized how I best can conceptualize topics and issues and talked with me about them that way. I made real breakthroughs working with her and learned first hand how much a good therapist changes things. Our sessions felt, and were, productive. Best therapist I've had.
