I saw Dr Brown back in december. She didn't really do anything to help me, and, in fact prescribed a blood pressure med (for anxiety) that aggravated my already over active bladder. If you are not a cookie-cutter patient do NOT go to this doctor.

Disappointed
I waited over a month to schedule an appointment at NMC after my PCP sent a referral for ADHD assessment. The first time I called to set an appointment I was told the doctors did not take my insurance &the assistant hung up on me.Only after I complained to NMC did I get an appointment.Because of the wait, I had received an online ADHD diagnosis but wanted to have a local provider. When I met Dr. Brown, it was not in an examination room but in her small office. She questioned the online diagnosis but she did treat me for about a month until her team accused me of abusing medication because my prior provider filled an old prescription.I was told Dr. Brown would probably not treat me & I was harassed about why I filled the other prescription. I never received a call from Dr. Brown herself. When it was time to refill my prescription, instead of contacting me and discharging me, Dr. Brown or her team removed my follow-up appointment from mychart, didn't fill my Rx & did not tell me anything.

Met this woman for 45 minutes. She accuses me of abusing medication, which is completely wrong and misdiagnosed me as delusional for a simple surgery clearance. I brought this to her attention asking her to amend her diagnosis. I have NO history of psychosis and feel that she was inappropriate telling me how to cope with something beyond my control. She is a doctor; not a lawyer. Shs refused. When I called the facility to ask how to navigate this matter because I like the surgeon, they suggested that I file a complaint. As a fellow provider, I didn't want to do that. In the end, she refused to see me telling my therapist I would need outside clearance when I tried to handle this matter professionally.

Extremely great doctor with high attention to detail and care. Has extensive background with working with adolescents and elderly. Takes time to address as much as possible with clients, if you mention something important in the last 30 seconds of the appointment... she will make you stay an extra 5minutes to make sure you are prepared to go back out into the world. Because of her care, patience, and attention to detail, wait times are longer and scheduling is very difficult due to her being booked up. This is also due to understaffing by Neuro Medical Center Baton Rouge which is her current facility as of 2014-2022. If at least 2/3rds of the psychiatric providers had her care, attention, and proactiveness, the world might be a more better place. I have been through a dozen doctors since my adolescence and she is the only one that paid attention to and connected patterns nobody else saw. I cannot recommend her enough and yet that will only make the scheduling and wait times longer.
