Very Thorough Examination
I’ve been going to Dr. Hicks for a couple years now. I find him to be the most thorough optometrists AI have ever had. He invests in state of the art testing equipment so that you can be assured that nothing is overlooked. More importantly, he explains the results so you can understand clearly the health of your eyes. His staff know their stuff as well. There is a large photo in the waiting room of what must have been a staff get together. It’s been there since before my first a years ago. Everyone pictured is still working with Dr. Hicks. Low or no turnover in a small practice can only occur in well managed practices. This is one such practice.

Ten Stars woud be abetter expression. I have 76 yrs of Optometrist Exam Patient Experience. This was the best, most in depth analysis of my Eye Health, EVER! That, coupled with a Physician who truly cares about his patients and takes his time explaining and showing what he finds. Dr. HIcks is not part of a group and therefore not rushed to see a quota of patients per day. My last eye exam was within two years. Not enough time to explain why the prior exams did not come up to the State Of The Art Diagnostic Devices used today. I had a pre-visit concern about the eye pressure device that was used in prior exams in Connecticut (covid transmission possibility). A new touchless, about 3" away, instrument was used. A new instument that pictures the interior of the eye multiple levels deep is available. I took advantage of it. It was money well spent. I will be talking to my children, grandchildren, and friends to consider having an exam when they visit. Dad, Grandpa, Jim saying I Love You!

Dr Hicks literally saved my life On june 16 I went in to update my lenses Upon and during a thorough eye exam my blood pressure was taken It was dangerously high He recommended I get to emergency room immediately When I got to medx they took my blood pressure and were horrified Wanted to call an ambulance to transport me I was admitted to hospital I was very lucky got treated in time to avoid stroke or worse Thanks to Dr Hicks. His thoroughness saved my life Also wonderful caring staff
