I did counseling through Jen Flood for over a year before I finally left. I had four different counselors during this time frame and all of them left with little to no notice and I was reassigned. This is quite disruptive to the process. After the fourth therapist left, she reached out to set me up with a new practitioner. I asked if she would be able to provide some more continuity in services. She said she couldn’t and explained: “Unfortunately, the nature of my practice is to support, train and foster new clinicians so they can eventually go out on their own and start their own practice. As a result, there's continuous turnover in the best kind of way”. I wanted to post this in the hopes of providing prospective patients a heads up on her business model of retaining counselors that are completing their licensing and will likely not be around for long. Patients should be informed that practitioners are still completing their training and of high turnover rate at outset.
