I wife at the time and I began seeing Jan for marriage counseling. We are now divorced. Jan could not help our situation because Jan talked about her self most of my sessions. If Jan was not talking about herself she was talking about her daughter and son in law and their issues. Jan obviously suffers from attention issues which makes it difficult to stay on topic or come back to a topic after chasing a “ rabbit” during sessions. Jan made diagnostic references towards my now ex wife at the time, referring to several behavioral / mental disorders to warn me of the issues at hand. When it came time to testify Jan said she never said anything to me in regards to my wife having behavioral issues. I believe this is related to Jan’s husband having cheated on her now Jan projects that on each male that sits before her even when this is a non issue, which in turn is not going to help in a marriage counseling situation. There are many legitimate marriage counselors just not Jan Burns.
