I genuinely enjoyed working with Ilene. She's been my therapist for a few months now and I have appreciated her candor and truth-telling. She is without a doubt different from my previous therapists who I also enjoyed working with. She is a highly educated, opinionated woman that was a good fit for me at a time where I wanted someone to "shake me up" and tell me the truth. There have been other times in my life where compassion, patient listening and kinship where the primary needs I had from a therapist to heal. What I can vouch for with her is that if you want a fierce advocate and someone who will fight with you for your freedom from [a relationship, workplace, oppressive culture], you'll have an ally and coach in her.

I have been a client of Dr. Ilene since July 2019 and I've had a 10/10 experience. She has helped me tremendously understand myself better than ever before. She sends me emails every week to confirm our appointments (which I appreciate). She is great at listening to me in our sessions. There have been a few times where she cut me off like others have mentioned - at the same time it has never been an impediment. She is the one objective person in my life who does not have a hidden agenda and that makes me trust her. I feel like I can talk to her about a lot of things in my life and she will give me honest feedback. She is great at not giving me her opinion. She empowers me to make decisions on my own based on what I learn from our conservations. I would recommend Dr. Ilene if you want an experience like my own.

Horrible person. I booked an appointment, she said "see you on Saturday and 2," and then she did not show up. She later said she wasn't totally sure if I was coming. What a joke of a human being. I hope she loses her license and business soon. You should find another therapist. One who comes to appointments, at the very least.

I am a coordinator at a treatment center and found Dr. Rich-Holtzbeerg on psychology today. I outreached to Dr. Rich-Holtzberg to refer clients to her and she was extremely rude. She immediately asked why I was calling her (after I was barely able to introduce myself). I didn't even have the chance to explain that I was trying to refer a client to her before she hung up in my face. Very unprofessional and I will be sure to inform my company as well as our affiliates to never refer to in the future.

She kept cutting me off every time I tried to speak, but I tried anyway. I gave her an overview: very intense childhood trauma, and current reasons for depression. Apparently my delivery was somehow wrong? At the end, she said "Do you want to schedule another appointment with me? I can't help you if you're going to be a drama queen.” I’m in a very dark place and it’s hard to find someone here, so I actually did want to see her again. I was completely taken aback, so she elaborated. "I'm not here to be entertained. It seems like you don’t want help.” She seemed confused when I looked upset. How can a therapist be so lacking in compassion? And some unable to read someone? Why would I leave work early and pay someone if I didn’t want help? I have panic attacks very rarely--maybe a few a year. As soon as I stepped out of her office, I had a full blown one. I’m not going to see another therapist for a long time. I feel so, so much worse now. Please don’t see this woman.

I've been seeing Dr. Rich-Holtzberg for about 5 years. She's been such a great therapist and I've completely transformed as a person and became a more authentic, happier, more assertive version of myself. I can't recommend her enough.

My experience with Dr. Rich-Holtzberg was the worst I've ever had with a healthcare professional. She was unprofessional and her office wasn't very clean. She said things to me that were absolutely discouraging for someone who is struggling with a mental health disorder. She also mentioned her personal problems. I left more upset than when I arrived and wondered how on earth she could be in an industry that's supposed to help people.
