Hannah Emert, PA-C

I unfortunately found myself in a position to require weekly interventions for a serious genetic disease which runs in my family, but seems to have affected me particularly badly. On a weekly basis, Hannah was required to (quite literally) jab a very large, very long needle into my abdomen to remove collected fluid - often upwards of 5L at a time. Never once, during what were rather difficult and painful procedures, was she impatient, unwilling to explain, or unpleasant. I found her bedside manner warm, increasingly comfortable, and while my issue has since been solved, I find myself missing those weekly sessions with someone I quickly considered a friend whom I’d trust. Obviously, I let her jab a giant needle in me every week.

She was rude and unprofessional towards me. Not only does she barely give you the time of day, but she’s also ignorant and treats you like an idiot. Poor patient care overall and she just had a negative attitude. I do not recommend seeing her.

She performed an upper GI series on me at Sentara Obici. She was very loud, fast, impatient, and had a bad attitude. It was very unpleasant and upsetting to me, I have had this test before at Harbor view and the treatment I received there was very kind and caring. I tried to explain why I was upset and she responded with sarcasm and an attitude. If I happened to get her to do testing on me again, I would refuse and request someone else. She needs to learn a better “bedside” manner if she wants to succeed in this profession.
