Gregory Kimble, LPC

Dr. Kimble is a very nice man who seemed quite capable of helping with trauma and PTSD. Unfortunately, our session did not reflect his skills that have been preached about on his professional profiles and websites. I had cried and tried to explain my initial issues during our (first) session. He did not allow me to talk about myself without flipping the scenario back on himself. I understand some people do that as a form of finding a middle ground between two people however, for a therapy session, I was expecting to be given advice and materials to help me cope with what I have been through. Our session lasted about an hour before I got up to leave. In that time, he did not learn my past, he did not learn my major area I was needing help in. Instead, I left with knowing he takes vacations in Hawaii, what his grandkids look like, and his chicken salad recipe (which must have cilantro for a extra kick). Like I said, he was a nice man but did not provide the help I desperately needed.

This is a very long review because I need to shed light here so that others don't fall into this mans trap and waste valuable time and money. Unfortunately, I must agree with Mary and I really didn't want her to be right but she was. However, we gave Dr. Gregory the benefit of the doubt and made an appt anyways, a couple actually. I will say he is very well educated in his profession but lacks the compassion and empathy that every therapist should have when going into counseling. Your therapist office should be your safe place, a place you can freely and openly express yourself and what you're going through. Dr. Gregory is not a great couples counselor and very likely not an individually one either. He cares more about proving how "smart" he is and that he knows everything when he doesn't even know what brings you in. He treats you like every other couple with his textbook approach instead of listening twice and speaking once. Not every couple is the same with the same issues. Couples
