Went to Inst on Violence & Trauma on my own volition AND paid out of pocket. I had two appts during which I explained that I'd severe trauma issues w/the police & in the mental health system itself. I left the 2nd appt & handed several release of info for my current therapist (my idea) and support team- my parting words were calmly asking if I could be seen more frequently than once a week & if I'd be able to get a super bill at the end of the year for my taxes. She didn't say a word, but let me go home & then IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE POLICE TO CHECK ON ME! Didn't tell me she was overly concerned, made no attempt to get in touch with my other therapist, case mgr, or other support people. but went directly to one of my greatest sources of trauma. I myself work in mental health and was shocked at this egregious and unethical choice. After calming down from the utter panic & full PTSD, I called and she said "Oh I thought that might upset you" and then said I was to sick to get tx there.

I was in the gallery of family court observing a case where Dr Rogers was the psychologist who had conducted a review. The judge commented that he was concerned about the ability of this psychologist the remain impartial, do her job as a forensic psychologist and her credibility. The judge stated, in court, on record, that he did not believe Dr Rogers had fulfilled her role, as the court had assigned it.

Gimel is a truly terrible psychologist in regards to court ordered psych evals. My ex claimed rape and she stopped looking at her bi-polar disorder, borderline personality disorder, her depression, and her alcoholism and becane a purely advocate role. So much so that the judge said she lost all credibility as a forensic psychologist and that she went way outside her scope because she even started making child custody recommendations. If she is a psych eval option deny her.
