Bad reviews are true
Read the negative reviews and still made an appointment because she had the earliest availability and I just needed some bloodwork. And I did get it ordered. But yeah, I’ve never dealt with a more dismissive, condescending, and abrasive medical professional. It was jarring. She also didn’t seem like much expertise and with any question that might require insight beyond that of a pop-health listicle, she told me I’d need to see multiple specialists to talk about those things. We’re talking basic questions about thyroid medications, fertility. It’s fine to not know everything, but her demeanor is so prickly that I felt totally shut down. She said she wouldn’t order one test because she “wouldn’t order what she couldn’t interpret.” By the end of the appointment, I just sorta gave up on trying to have a conversation and gave monosyllabic answers to the questions she read off the MyChart script. Wouldn’t recommend, and had this experience involved a gyno exam, I think I’d be really upset.

Asked me so many highly inappropriate, unprofessional, and unnecessary questions. Was completely incompetent in regards to Ehlers Danlos Sydnrome (which every doctor should know about). And made me so uncomfortable and fluster that I left crying. She then called me later that evening to continue to try and convince me to take hormonal birth control after I adamantly stated I did not want to do that. Worst experience I?ve ever had in a doctor?s office. So rude and condescending and inappropriate.

The rudest Dr I have ever spoken to.
Like it says in the title, she is the RUDEST Dr I have EVER had the displeasure of talking to. Utterly terrible. I had major technical difficulties and was pretty late to my appointment (which, that’s on me and I own that) her office said it was fine as long as I showed up before 3. I got into the waiting room at 2:25 and then waited until 2:55 to even talk to her. And when I did she was straight up hateful. Asked me why I didn’t come in person and why I cared that my mother had a concern about my health. Asked me why I even wanted to be seen in the first place she said I should have come into the office (wanted to, couldn’t) and told me about 8 times I needed to come in person and then said “do you understand what I’m asking you to do?”. I have never written a review on a doc in my LIFE and this was so bad I hope no one has the misfortune of seeing them. Shame on them, that kind of attitude is exactly why people don’t go to drs and DIE, bc they’re hateful and don’t want to go back.

A real disappointment
She’s never going near my nether-regions again. I will keep it vague, as to avoid reliving this horrid experience. Geri Hason was less than pleasant to put it mildly. She seemed annoyed the entire time I was with her, was extraordinarily condescending and brought up irrelevant medical history in a way that was very shaming (and did so, I believe, to invalidate some reasonable feelings of fear/sadness that I was experiencing, regarding a diagnosis). I am horrified that someone like Geri Hason has access to her patients’ most vulnerable parts. Perfect candidate for some intense sensitivity training. I implore women looking for an OBGYN to look elsewhere.

Abrasive & Terrible Bedside Manner
She did not listen to what I explained about my medical history and symptoms and started to argue with me several times when I politely expressed what exam/tests I was comfortable with during the visit. She also implied that I was lying about my history and symptoms. It was a bizarre and uncomfortable experience. This is the first medical professional I’ve encountered who made me feel truly uncomfortable and who was combative and abrasive instead of helpful in a stressful situation. She needs a lot more training on her soft skills and interactions with patients. Never returning!

I went to Dr. Hason because of debilitating symptoms and I was desperately looking for answers. I already avoid doctors because of bad past experiences where I was not listened to and belittled. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again. She made me feel stupid when I asked questions about my new diagnosis and just referred me to a different doctor. The next doctor spoke to me about my diagnosis more in depth and was open to all my questions and even told me I had an autoimmune disease that Dr. Hason never discussed with me. Please do not go to her.

I really wish I had read the reviews here before. I went to see Geri Hason at NYU Langone at Trinity for an annual physical and obgyn consultation because it was impossible to get an appt with my regular doctor. She was exactly how you all described her. No bed manners at all. A terrible listener. She disagreed with everything that I said about my body, my medical history and despite the fact that she was able to read everything in my file, she acted like I was lying. I wouldn’t go back to her.

I scheduled a physical with her when I couldn't see my regular physician soon enough. She was incredibly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She rolled her eyes frequently, and refused to discuss any of my medical issues unless I agreed to change my visit to a 'follow-up' which would mean that I would have to pay a copay because then it could no longer be considered a physical apparently. Never had this problem before with any other physician. Even then, she wasn't even helpful and just continued to treat me like an idiot. I have seen many physicians and other professionals through NYU Langone and I will never ever seek to seek treatment with this woman again.

Terrible PA, does not pay attention at all and is very scatter brained. She had me come into the office twice for a procedure because she was not ready to do it at my first appointment but of course I had to pay my copay for both appointments and the first was a complete waste of time. She was also supposed to get back to me with prescription options and never did, needless to say I will not be seeing her again or going to this NYU Langone office again. Do not recommend her.

I believe If you have Medicaid she treats you as such. She was late, rude and short. During my annual didnt ask any questions while doing a pelvic exam. That is unheard of. She is a liability to NYU and has no business working with people. She pushed any issue I had on to other doctors even though I was discussing my pelvic area. Shame on her for her treatment of vulnerable women.

Despite my better judgement after reading the reviews I took a chance scheduling with Geri Hason because I was having unusual symptoms and thought I might be pregnant. She looked at me like I was an idiot as I explained my reason for the visit, and proceeded to respond in a similarly condescending manner. I’ve never regretted an appointment so much.

Didn't explain things, talked down to me when I asked questions. Just needed a birth control prescription renewal for the same birth control I've been taking for the past 10 years. Insisted that I need a full pelvic exam or she would not give me script. The half way through the exam she told me she was doing a pap smear.

I have to agree with the other patients. I scheduled an appt with Dr. Geri because my usual doctor was busy, and she was rude, didn’t give a lot of explanation and seemed pretty judgemental of everything. I do not feel comfortable getting treated by her.

I wish I did my research prior. I never felt a certain way about seeing a PA vs MD, so when my MD wasn't available, I scheduled it with Geri. Should have ran after the first 5 minutes. Besides her bad bedside manner which I just ignored, it took me months to receive my prescription, never followed up regarding my prescription, nor offered any explanation of apology. It has been hell since her office visit just to obtain my prescription. AVOID her, she is a terrible provider. NYU should fire her.

Dismissive & impatient compared to other NYU providers. Ms. Hasen would not discuss any issue outside a bare-bones exam. Insisted I book another appt. with her “for those problems.” She did suggest a specialist. If you have no health issues or concerns, you’ll be fine as she is not an MD and to be fair, I should have done my research. Too much time spent on basic questions already answered in MYCHART.

I made an annual gyno appointment with Geri Hanson this year noting that I had questions about Zika and IUDs. When she arrived at my early AM appointment, half an hour late, she announced she wasn't current on Zika or IUDs for a patient like me. She promised to follow up with more info, which she did not do. A month later, my birth control was recalled. Called and emailed her office in a panic, but she didn't even other to call me back despite her office promising she would. Appalling.

Reading the other reviews I literally kept thinking "Are we reviewing the same person?" After reading more, I realized we are, I just had a VERY different experience. Not only was Geri an amazing listener and insanely through PA, she went above and beyond to make sure that I did what she suggested and consistently checked up on me till everything was back to normal. I've NEVER felt that a medical professional cared more about me then her.
