I conferred with Ms Long regarding my ongoing back pain that started with a Urinary Tract Infection that was cured months ago. Ms Long was caring and a good listener, but she was able to pull my meandering story into focus and explain issues that have mystified me about this condition. She asked just the right questions, and entered lots of information into my patient file, saying the words aloud as she typed so I was able to add and clarify as the interview went on. She's worked out an order of treatment and testing that I know is going to help with this pain. I left feeling truly hopeful about my recovery.

My husband had a very extensive surgery on his back and he met Genevieve Long at the follow up appt. She was very informative and was able to answer all the questions that we had for her regarding his recovery. She removed the staples efficiently and redressed the wound describing what to expect going forward. As part of Ghostines team, she is very valuable and knowledgable. We learned at this appt. that she was also present during the surgery.

I first met Genevieve Long in 2019 when she assisted on a life saving surgery I had. She removed my staples and took very good care of my needs. I recently had an issue that required me to have a CT scan. I called her because was unable to do the scan and had to reschedule due to certain physical limitations. She was in surgery but called me when she got out and reassured me that everything would be ok. She is very thorough, caring. she listens and doesn't miss a beat. Her cares and concerns are genuine and when leaving her you know she only wants the best for you and does what it takes to make sure it happens.

Genevieve Long met with me for the first time and was extremely professional. She took time to evaluate and then explain everything that she felt needed to be done to help my condition. She was quick to try different methods instead of jumping to surgery or medication. Also, she was conscious of insurance coverage to make sure out of pocket expense could be kept under control. I appreciated her caring mannerism and listening ear.

When I had surgery for spinal cord implantation, Genevieve Long was the PA that removed the staples, and did the follow-up. I can say nothing but good about this person. She was kind, compassionate and friendly. She went beyond the call of duty to walk me, and push my husband (who was suffering a painful gout in his ankle)in a wheelchair all the way to the parking garage.

Genevieve did my initial workup for possible surgery with Dr. Ghostine. She was very thorough and asked all of the right questions. Looking forward to developing a course of treatment for my back and leg pain. Definitely see her if you can.

I am a relatively young man that has been plagued with spinal issues for much of my life. I am also a medical student so I spend a lot of time thinking about my interactions with other medical professionals. Dr. Long has been my follow-up manager with Dr. Ghostine after a complicated and far overdue back surgery. Even if my outcome hasn't been as great as it has been (life changing), medicine is more than just about outcomes. Genevieve feels more like you're talking to family then you are talking to somebody whos name you are going to forget. It feels like divine providence to have finally met medical professionals who cared enough about me to take me seriously. Genevieve is a gem. You will never feel rushed, you will never feel talked over, you will not feel ignored. Thank you Genevieve!

I recognize that being a PA provider during this pandemic is very stressful, but I also believe that healthcare providers realize that they don’t have control over it. All they can do is to focus on doing their part .PA providers act with the community in mind. They can also give quality care in Neurosurgery or in Medicine alongside of their supervising Doctors. That being said, I believe that the PA profession is great, and it plays a great role in helping to increase the efficiency in the health care environment in our society.

This summer, I had the privilege of shadowing Ms. Genevieve Long at the clinic in Riverside. As a pre-PA student, I have not only learned more about the PA profession from her, but also got to witness what quality care looks like. Ms. Genevieve really takes the time to listen to her patients and their needs as well as provides a clear and concise treatment plan that will help in their healing. All of her patients admire her because of the compassionate care that she provides for them. As her student, she also took the time to explain to me the diagnoses, treatment plan, and gave me tips that will help me become a better provider. I will definitely these lessons with me so that someday I can also provide that same compassionate, empathic care that I've witnessed from her to my patients. To anyone who is an aspiring PA, I highly recommend that you seek out an opportunity to shadow Ms. Genevieve because she is an amazing teacher and provider.

Genevieve visited me during my hospital stay after my complex cervical spine surgery. She was a true professional, yet very personable and gave me encouraging advice on how to recover from my surgery. At my post-up appointment, she gently removed my staples and cleaned the area. Dr. Ghostine is fortunate to have such a competent assistant as Genevieve.
