Disappointing visit
I am sorry to say that after many happy years with Dr. Cleveland I had the same experience as others have reported. Bad prescription, weird insurance situation where I paid a copay, plus an additional $200 at the office and then was billed more. The office is in very bad condition. Dr. Cleveland who is a very talented practitioner just seemed tired.

Go somewhere else
If you can go anywhere else, you should do it. The clinic is a mess. Be prepared to wait 30 minutes passed your appointment time, I did. The doc was ok. But Be prepared to have your eyes tested on old equipment. And finally - be prepared to wait for a long time if you want contacts. I waited for three weeks for my test lenses. It wasn’t until after I complained to the Medical Faculty Associates patient line that I was finally mailed my contacts - a month after I saw the doc. And the contacts didn’t work and I couldn’t see with them. I can’t imagine going back for an appointment that won’t start on time to have to beg for contacts to be mailed to me.

Absolute incompetence and triple billed insurance. GwU needs to be monitored Making official complaint to BCBS. She Could not complete contact lens RX. And charged me another 120 for that incompetence. Still cant see. Complete waste of my time and will be filing requisite complaints. Stay away and be vigilant of hospitals and doctors overcharging for non services during this time.

I had a terrible experience at this visit. All I needed was a basic eye check-up. The appointment seemed fine in the moment but then the discomfort began: 1) the glasses prescription was wrong and made me nauseous. I had to go back to a different doctor to get an accurate one. 2) The billing was extremely unprofessional. Despite a promise that they took my standard, popular insurance, they sent mixed messages to my insurance (the told the vision insurance section that they wouldn't bill to them because it was a medical exam, and then told the medical insurance section that it was a basic vision check and not a comprehensive medical exam), thus ensuring that I would have to pay $350 out of pocket for this bad appt. Follow-up took ages and was disrespectful even to insurance. My situation was not strange, and I've since learned, sadly not close to unique. I went in for a simple eye check-up, and got stuck with a big bill, a bad prescription, and rudeness. Don't make the same mistake.
