Eric Botier, MHC

Eric was my first therapist after years of depression and anxiety. He actively listened to all my kvetching with compassion, and offered me strategies to be happier and more successful. Eric saved my life in a dark time. Anyone, especially a millennial, would be lucky to have him as a therapist.

...With the way he acted when he was in the office, I suppose I should be thankful he spent so much time avoiding me. He diagnosed me with an eating disorder and then suggested I lose weight to boost my confidence (my BMI is a very normal, healthy 21), referred to the person that sexually assaulted me as my “boyfriend” (even though I never referred to him as such), and told a ridiculous fable/moral story under the guise of ancient Native American wisdom, not to mention that he was always slurping some drink from Duncan Donuts, as if I were his friend gossiping in a coffee shop, not a paying client that was supposed to be receiving treatment. The entire facility at which he was working at the time was located in a basement lit by quivering fluorescent lights. This, of course, is not his fault, but didn’t make the experience any more pleasant. Writing this review was more therapeutic than the hours I spent in his dark, windowless, subterranean lair/office.

Kind, compassionate counsellor who actually LISTENS. I am a 47 year old who has mental health issues due to childhood trauma.I have been in therapy for nearly four years and so far Eric Botier has been the only LMHC that has shown me that there IS hope. Highly recommended for any age group.
