Emily was not helpful with my back pain and my nerve pain radiating down both legs. She would not prescribe different meds to help. Finally I got to see the doctor. That same visit I was set up for a surgery for a synovial cyst on my spine. He doesn’t listen to what you’re saying and she does not wanna help in anyway

Emily treated my back pain brought on by severe spinal stenosis and degenerative disk disease. She understood my fear of surgery and offered many options to address the pain but was always clear that eventually surgery was the only option to tackle the root of the problem. She encouraged me to get a more current MRI, another procedure that was not something I wanted to experience. I found Emily to be professional and knowledgeable yet caring and truly interested in doing what she could to help alleviate my pain. Her rating here is surprising as I have only found Emily accessible - always supportive in any decision I made on how I wanted to proceed once the injections she suggested I get were no longer affective. She referred me to pain management which addressed my pain for almost 3 years. Her advice from the very beginning was surgery. Her prediction was that I would know when I needed to seriously consider that route. She was correct in that prediction. Highly recommend Emily McKarns

Dr. McKarns was a joy to visit. We were seen very quickly, office is clean and sanitary, staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. McKarns was knowledgable, understanding and offered new, different options to treat a back condition that has plagued me for years. She only offered a referral for a surgeon if that would be my choice of treatment. I feel confident moving forward and do not agree with reviews here so far. She is a great doctor and I look forward to the help she can provide.

Absolutely no solutions are presented—just lots of referrals to other procedures and tests. Got the feeling that she is either unsure of herself or is being controlled with an iron fist because she indicated that she didn’t want to call the doctor in for consultation until she had exhausted all possible testing. In the meantime, I’m in lots of pain.

She is Definintly a waste of time! Like the above rating say's,I thought I was the only one she treated like this, she is unwilling to give any kind of guidance on different medications that could be of use to help with releiving nerve pain,and pressure in no way. I have had a cervical spinal fusion,and was told to see my pcp for answer's. Her attitude show's you who she truly is,which is her way,or the highway. Beleive me If I could give her 0 stars I would!!

She was unwilling to help after giving me medication that did not work for me. I have severe lower back pain with arthritis that radiates down my leg and she refused to prescribe or try anything else and referred me back to my own physician if I needed anything else. I was not looking for narcotics but for something different(anti-flammatory) from what she prescribed. Everything this place did my own PCP could have done. This was a waste of time and a co-pay. They are not a specialist and just will write referrals for you to go to other places.
