In our most recent family session, Ellen made the point that we shouldn't force our opinions on one another. I politely questioned if that was a hard rule, explaining that I've been trying to convince my parents that there's a potential health risk in their home. Ellen literally argued with me for the rest of the session over whether you can see mildew--she says it's either not there if you can't see it or "it's only a health risk if you can see it!" What?! CDC.gov blatantly disagrees--invisible mold spores are likely bad to inhale. Somehow her in-the-moment Google search--which she didn't show us--proved her right, but when asked to Google my point, she simply said "no." In short, since our first session (we've had maybe 6 or 8), I've perceived a few red flags. She sighs when we speak at length. She was highly aggressive to my mother, who has a severe anxiety disorder. Now, she's working against my effort to keep my parents healthy, pretending to be a mold expert with no common sense.
