Dr. Ellen McNally, DC

First appointment with Dr. McNally was an evaluation, not covered by Medicare or Medigap, so I paid out of pocket. She ordered an Xray, based on results, she ordered an MRI. Medicare does not recognize a chiropractor’s order for these services, hence they would not pay. It is clearly stated in the Medicare handbook that Medicare will not honor a chiropractor’s order for these tests. She should have directed me to my PCP to order these tests. Ultimately, I did see my PCP who wrote the order and cost for tests were covered. Once she received the MRI report, she contacted me with results and referred me to a spinal specialist for treatment. She stated that she preferred not to treat me for this condition, which I respected. On 2 occasions I requested a copy of her evaluation so that I could augment the Xray and MRI reports I am taking to the specialist, with her findings. She did not respond, to my request for this information. It was a very disappointing experience.
