Dulcinea Prai, LCSW

I have to tame my review down because this site wouldn't post the original. In short - this woman is incredibly rude and unprofessional. I see other reviewers saying things like she's just direct and "tells it like it is." No. She's rude and unprofessional and does not belong in her industry.

My partner and I went to see her for relationship counseling. She had a judgmental tone and sour facial expressions. We went to her for help and she shamed both of us and even insinuated that I am a bad parent after speaking to me for 15 minutes. She has no compassion or empathy and immediately labeled us without learning any of the background about us or our relationship. We both left shaken and a bit shocked. I would warn anyone against seeing her. By far the worst therapy experience of my life.

Extremely unprofessional, I really should not have been seeing her for as long as I did. I was met with judgement multiple times after discussing things that I have done in my life, and I also expressed a dream of mine to her which she then labeled “grandiose.” After expressing concern about ADHD she labeled it “most likely bipolar” then changed it immediately after a diagnoses from a psychologist. After being asked countless times “okay what would you like to work on now?” And me answering “I’m not sure, sometimes I feel like it’s best to come in and word vomit sometimes” she immediately responded with “that’s not how I work.” Lastly, I asked after a few weeks of not seeing Dulcinea if I could set an an appointment for a week later and was met with RADIO SILENCE. I would advise that anyone seeking any professional help from Dulcinea, please look in a different direction.

After several family tragedies and failed programs for providing support and structure for my life, I was introduced to Dulcinea (I know her now as Renee). I have ADHD as well as a long history of substance abuse and many other self-destructive tendencies. Renee has always been very professional with me. At first, yes I did not want to communicate my issues, I was selfish and wanted only for her to tell me how to fix myself. However, after a few sessions of her being real with me and telling me I had to have the desire to fix myself, I finally stopped being childish and realized I had to let her guide me through the steps I needed to take to help myself. She is providing a service that only works when I step out of my own box of comfort and trust her to show me the tools to recovery and lead a normal, happy, improved life. If anyone reading this is stuck or afraid of seeking help, please don't hesitate to give Renee a chance. She cares and is truly willing to help. I'm happy I did!

I saw Dulcinea for several weeks and never got anywhere. She claims to be a Christian but she discusses new age ideas and touts those kind of books. After several weeks of counseling it was clear she wasn't helping and she said, "I don't know how to help you" in a rude manner. I shouldn't have continued to see her for as long as I did but needed someone to talk to at the time. She made me feel very badly after the last visit which a therapist should never do. Her profile states that she provides counseling on ADHD, however she completely missed the boat with me. I was diagnosed after my sessions with her. I would never recommend her to anyone!

I have been seeing Dulcinea for a few months now and I find her to be nothing short of professional, compassionate and honest. I saw 3 other counselors over the past two years and she is the only one I have felt a connection with. I feel like when I see her I leave feeling more clear about my life goals and feel far more control over my life. I read the other reviews before seeing her and I have never once experienced her exhibiting that sort of behavior. Dulcinea is a great counselor and I am beyond grateful for finding her.

Great therapist

Ms Prai is a professional therapist. She’s incredibly passionate and helpful. She gave me many good ideas and long-standing coping skills.

I would recommend Renee Prai (Dulcinea) to anyone who wants to get real about their life. She is a direct and assertive therapist that gives you skills and makes you do the work she holds you accountable. I am thankful I found her.

I sched. my very 1st appt with Dulcinea (Renee) Prai for 8/9 at 5pm. She confirmed details via text. I'm in Southeast Denver so it's about an hour drive in rush hour. I text her that I'll be 10/15 min late, she responded with,"No Problem."Arrived at 5:19pm and text her that I just walked in. She read it 2 minutes later (iPhone). I sat there for an hour 15 with no response. She never came out. I finally left. She never called or followed up. I got stood up by a therapist. Pretty messed up.

Nice lady but stubborn and rigid in opinions at times. Moved on to someone who was more open minded.

Very truthful about what she tells you and very honest, which may seem unprofessional, but her talking to you that way allows you to open up, speak more freely and feel comfortable like if you were talking to a very good friend.

I would highly discourage anyone from seeing Dulcinea Prai because of her extreme unprofessionalism.
