Debra Sims, WHNP

My experience was not good. I went there for severe cramping and pain. The ultrasound was normal, but I was still having pain. I asked about surgical options because it was affecting the quality of life. She said I was too old for endometreosis at the age of 42. My PCP was dumbfounded at this. It is so hard to diagnose and can be found at my age. She said we couldn't do anything without a diagnosis. Well, what about pain? Isn't that a diagnosis? I had seen her before and did not like her style, but this was enough for me to switch to another practice. They performed a hysterectomy and found many issues while I was in surgery.

I saw Debra for the first time this month after my previous NP had left the office. I was already nervous about seeing a doctor and hadn’t been in over a year so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Debra was rude and manipulative about my decisions and outcome, for simply getting represcribed birth control. She told me she would do what I was asking “to be nice”, which was very condescending. She didn’t greet me, ask anything about me, make me feel comfortable, or explain any procedures. As a young girl who is alone at this appointment, she made me feel as though my opinion and concerns didn’t matter. When there was nothing left to do, she simply walked out and laughed. When I tried to reschedule my appointment, she called me back and told me she would be cancelling it and that the new doctor I had requested won’t be seeing me. I left the appointment in tears and would recommend anyone new to women’s health appointments look elsewhere.

I’ve been going to Debra Sims since Dr Trout retired in 2010, Debra has always taken time to listen and answer all questions I may have. Exams are professional and comfortable. Such a caring doctor and human being.

Debbie has been my GYN nurse practitioner since 2006. She does all my annual exams plus has compassionately got me through a few urgent care needs. She is very competent so I trust her. These exams are never pleasant but Debbie is very friendly and genuinely cares about me. When I moved to the other side of the metro she was the only health care provider I was willing to drive that far for! I highly recommend Debbie Sims!!!

Debbie’s has been my practitioner for almost three years now and I’ve always had a great experience. She takes the time to not only address concerns but also educate. She truly cares and is very knowledgeable and I never feel rushed. I appreciate this kind of care because it is not always easy to find.

For starters she’s not my normal doctor, (highly recommend Doctor pung). 10/10 When Debra first walked in, she seemed agitated and spoke to the nurse about me as if I wasn’t in the room or asking the nurse questions about me, when I was standing right there. I did not feel like a patient at that time just another body she had to deal with. I feel as though she was persuading me into a medical decision I told her I didn’t want at least 6 times. Then when I explained my reasoning as to why I didn’t want it, she had an attitude and in a very condescending tone, said okay. I had a procedure which required numbing after that and she cut into me after I told her I could still feel it. Her response was I’ll be done before you decide. Thankfully this is a one time thing and I will be going back to my regular doctor. Once again, Highly recommend Dr. Pung.

Debra is amazing! She’s sooo nice, thorough, & she makes you feel at ease. I wasnt feeling very good yesterday and need to get seen by my doctor but since my doctor is on vacation, they went ahead and squeeze me in for an appointment. Though I had to come back, but it works out since I work at the hospital anyway. I would definitely recommend her! She will take good care of you. She have a really good bed side manner, I wish I met her sooner. I cant say enough good things about her she is just soo good and very nice!!
