Debra Fuentes, MED

This was my daughter's second virtual appointment with her and she was falling asleep during my daughter's appointment and my daughter would have to keep repeating things. Not very professional at all. This is exactly why my daughter doesn't trust opening up to counselors.. they don't truly care and aren't in it to help people. Worst experience ever!

Debra was a good counselor in my experience but her professional approach is less than subpar. She was late to my first two sessions and on my 3rd session she no called no showed on me. Never sent a link to our Telehealth appointment. Seems very disorganized and just not what I would have expected by the reviews I read ahead of time. I cancelled my services with her due to her issues with tardiness and missing the appointment. I sincerely hope she does not do that to clients who are truly in crisis. Very sad because I had high hopes this would help me but after my experience with her I will not pursue future counseling with any provider. It has left a bad taste in my mouth for the services counselors provide.

This person was assigned to me to act as an SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) & she administered the required drug & alcohol assessment. I had been sober for 28 years at the time, however she clearly instructed me to "consider my entire life" when answering the assessment questions. I followed her instructions. Consequently, there was no distinction made between my behavior BEFORE I got clean & sober & AFTER I got clean & sober.... and as would be expected, my behavior when using and drinking was QUITE DIFFERENT than my behavior of the last 28 years of sobriety in the program. She read my honest answers, immediately deemed me an active addict (or alcoholic, or both) & then forced me to attend an outpatient drug & alcohol program in order to keep my job... & I was laid off from my job without pay while I attended DRUG TREATMENT. I have never gotten an answer from her as to why a long-time sober person would be knowingly led down such a dishonest path. Maybe legal counsel will find one?

I would absolutely recommend Debra to my family & friends. She has been helping me tremendously! I look forward to my Thursday meetings with her. She is friendly, approachable, knowledgeable & non-judgmental. She makes you feel comfortable.

I HAVE recommended Mrs. Fuentes, to two separate individuals for anxiety issues, panic attacks, and test anxiety. She is very approachable, serious when she needs to be, and it's immediately obvious she is quite experienced in counseling, and specialty treatments.

VERY DEDICATED TO HELPING OTHERS. VERY SUPPORTIVE. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ALCOHOL COUNSELING!
