Dr. Dean Bancroft, OD

It was the most traumatic doctor visit for my son ever! He is photosensitive, meaning his eyes are very sensitive to light and drops, etc. I told Dr. Bancroft that I did not want the dilation because of photosensitivity and he said , "That's not a good enough reason ." I said that we go to a naturopath that has a very sophisticated machine that tests his eyes and he said he doesn't doubt that but what if my son has abnormalities. I asked, "What percentage of children have eye abnormalities?" He avoided answering the question. He then said to his assistant, "Well I guess we can compromise and give him less drops." He didn't even address me, the patient's mother, when he said that. He was basically controlling, coersive, disrespectful and verbally abusive. My son proceeded to be tortured by the drops and the bright lights he was subjected to. He developed a terrible migraine after that and had to miss school the next day. And of course, there were no abnormalities.
