REFUSED CARE!
Was a pt of Dr Rubin in his solo practice yrs ago but after becoming diabetic I couldn’t get a dilated exam. Now he’s in a group and does dilated exams. Nice office, staff, tech, short wait time. I said I couldn’t afford the $70 for a refraction test not covered by Medicare and I couldn’t afford prescription glasses. My readers work fine now that I’m retired. THE DR REFUSED TO SEE ME! He could have done tests for glaucoma, check my eye blood vessels and check for cataracts. I am appalled that a physician does not understand the financial difficulties of retirees. Is your prescription eyeglass business more important than a pts eye health?Shame on you for such judgmental and discriminatory medical practices. The tech tried to steer me to pay my co-pay and I hope he knows I’m NEVER paying a dime for NO care!

Dr Rubin is an excellent doctor. This is an extremely busy facility. In the beginning it did take a while to see the doctor but now it seems they have improved immensely on scheduling. I highly recomm

Time to move on
Time to find another eye doctor. Dr. Rubin was excellent when he was in private practice. Now his operation is chaotic at best, while completely ineffective. I went in for a standard annual exam. Waiting room time: 50 minutes. I was moved to another room where I met too many staff members. One tech entered my data into the EMR under someone else's identity, but realized it 1/2 way though so she jumped out with saving the data, even when prompted to do so by another medical assistant. She did not reenter the original data once on her own profile, then left the room. My whole visit took 1 hour and 45 minute, and I did not receive the referral Rubin had ordered. The following day I called Eye Associates, and a woman argued with me that there was no mention of a referral. I had to drive back to EA to get face-to-face. Rubin blamed the front desk, and me, but not the favored assistant who he defended vigorously. I was in healthcare before retiring; I know what I saw. Lots of suspicions.

AWFUL, MORE THEN ONE TIME THE STAFF AT HIS OFFICE WERE UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISORGANISED. SOME OF THE STAFF ARE UNINFORMED AND UNHELPFUL AND UNPLEASANT. GO ELSEWHERE AND SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ! DR. RUBIN BLAMED ME FOR HIS STAFFS SCREWUPS. 6/11/2021

I was on time for my appointment and asked the receptionist if the dr was on time as I had time constraints and she said yes and informed me of the charges that I would be responsible for. After waiting 25 minutes with 2 other patients sitting in a tiny, dingy, poorly ventilated, with no social distancing, waiting room with nobody being called and a new patient checking in, I determined that the lack of concern during this time of COVID 19 spoke volumes about the care that this dr provides. I walked out. I'm getting tired of drs. like this that show no consideration for their patients' time or well-being and only care about money. Not recommended.
