Dr J was an excellent listener, frequently asking for clarification of details of events I was describing, or details of my belief system that he did not understand. He recognized and valued my belief system and integrated it into his therapy vs. imposing his own. He knows when to use humor and has a sense of when a patient needs to take a break from talking. His therapy is was often subtle but effective in changing my thinking.
