Down right mean
I came in for memory issues & did all his test the best I could. I came in for my results & he said I was either crazy or a liar. I just found out my CSF flow is obliterated from blockages from my spine and Chiari. I just had one surgery and need another surgery to fix it. The blockages cause memory issues. I cried when he told me I was crazy and he told me to try electric shock therapy for my depression which I didn't have and told him I didn't have. He also didn't listen. He mentioned in our second visit that I had mentioned not getting along with my mom when I told him in our first visit my mom is dead and I missed her. We were best friends. Then he stopped me in the middle of me saying something to ask if I used meth. I still am traumatized from how he treated me. I finally have a team that helps & believes me. I went years untreated and thinking I was crazy. I hope he's changed and listens to people now.

Unprofessional and condescending
He talked about other patients during my first visit and assumed he knew why I was coming before asking me. He even told me his assumption.(He was wrong). He made inappropriate jokes about me shooting up public places after my exam. He told me I was seeking a certain diagnosis that wasn’t even the reason I was there and proceeded to tell me sorry he isn’t going to give it to me. He made me feel like I was seeking ADHD meds and said I was suffering singular depression from alcoholism. (I haven’t drank in almost a year and not excessively in longer than that) He was distracting and rude during my exam. He even told me he wasn’t going to cover certain result I could ask my therapist about them. All together he was unprofessional and condescending. Please do not spend your time and money with him. I was there voluntarily trying to get analytical data and he actually made me feel worse about myself and my ability to work through my conditions already documented by other professionals.

wish i never saw this dr
I feel so betrayed and humiliated still years after seeing Dr Hess. He was dismissive, he trivialized my symptoms from a head injury and he insinuated I was making it up. Then he put that in my medical records! So now I feel that if in the future should a serious issue occur that I will not be taken seriously because of his insinuation! A Professional? HOW ? Everyone that knows me noticed the changes immediately and now this has become the norm because I still to this day, years later am suffering these symptoms with no relief. Perhaps a professional that would have cared and listened could have found a way to possibly find me the help i needed when this first happened. I wish I never saw him and still to this day cringe at the thought of him. He made me feel embarrassed and humiliated and sorry to tell him how i was feeling. Now hopeless, I wish i just kept all my symptoms to myself. It's Disgraceful to be in a field like this and not care one bit about the people that come for help.

One of the worst appointments I've had with a doctor. Simply read off a list for my results and was unable to explain them in detail. You will leave clueless. If you're seeing this review, go somewhere else.

The tester, Ashley was extremely rude. She left me alone several times for extended periods of time.. None of her instructions were clear. She was late getting me from the waiting room. I had to come back to finish my appointment which was very inconvenient. It was not a good experience.

Terrible. Do not see this provider. He is more concerned with the insurance companies than his patients. Dr. Hess is the most inauthentic doctor I have ever encountered.

Alex was very blunt and condescending. She was also a distraction because her leg was constantly shaking. Chastised me b/c I was hot and uncomfortable with the mask. Room very hot. Alex re-scheduled my appt. w/o my input. Long wait time. Alex came out and was rude to me, asking me if I had checked in. I said yes, but she left, telling me to go back to the window to tell the receptionist that I was here. I told the receptionist, and she seemed perturbed that Alex had come out to send me back to her, as was I. My needs improvement list refers to Alex, not the receptionist or Dr. Hess.

Dr. Hess was very nice, funny, and caring. He was sensitive to my issues for being there, explained things very well, and even asked how my experience at his office had been since I’d had a bad experience at another neuropsychology office several years ago. I appreciate the time he took getting to know me and explaining my impairment to me. He gave me ideas of how to compensate for my memory loss. If I ever need to see a neuropsychologist in the future, I’d go back to him.
