Darren Hassell, LCSW

I’ve been an on-again, off-again patient of Darren’s for 10 years. He has been consistently compassionate and open-minded to my conflicts with others and myself. He helped me get through a divorce, a couple of breakups, changing jobs, taking on higher education, working through childhood trauma and all of the thought and behavioral patterns that follow. I feel his approach helped guide me to self-awareness more than telling me. Darren always provides a safe space to be completely honest, which I feel is what I needed in order to own my self-blocking behavior and lack of boundaries. I realize that he said things years ago I didn’t quite understand, and therefore, rejected. Now, years later, it just clicked, and I laugh at how I dismissed it back then. He was so right! I’m so grateful I found him and I’ve reached an incredible degree of growth with his help. Solid therapist. Good person.

Straightforward, honest, compassionate, and genuinely interested in helping. I never felt like I was just an assignment or someone that was on a checklist of appointments. The best and most trustworthy counselor I've had.

Darren Hassell is the epitome of a bad social worker. He's not a psychiatrist by any stretch but he pretends to be. He is not afraid to share his patients history with others (despite confidentiality) and he is the kind of person who is pro-gentrification. He told me one of his patients was a soldier who had to kill boys in afghanistan. I shouldn't know that but I do, because he told me, and I wonder what he's told others about me? He's a scary person because he doesn't realize how bad he is.
