Dan guided me through a process over the course of several months where I was able to honestly reflect on my actions and behaviors related to my alcohol addiction. Along the way he helped me identify, define and work through past trauma. Dan’s patience and support was critical as we found methods for overcoming my addiction that were very specific to me. His humor, honesty and compassion meant a lot as it wasn’t exactly a straight line to success. I’m thankful I crossed paths with Dan. I’m in a better place now.

He posed provocative questions that challenged me to become more introspective. He even called BS on me one time. Gold.

Dan was my therapist for several years, guiding me through a number of issues, including divorce, parenting children with special needs, job change and moving to a new state. He helped me to become unstuck” and to move forward with my life. Although, we met weekly, he communicated that he was always available between sessions if something were to come up. Overall, a very pleasant therapist who intuitively knows just how hard to push against a client’s resistance to change without the client shutting down. Highly recommend.

I saw Dan for 4 years in therapy until I moved out of MA. I struggled with anxiety, relationships and self esteem. Dan helped me grow in ways that I did not realize I was capable of prior to meeting with him. He helped me through some of the more difficult experiences of my life with his compassion, consistency, directness and wit. I have no hesitancy in recommending Dan to anyone in need of help. I have no doubt your life will be richer for it.

From our first session, I could tell that Dan understood me completely and would be able to help me with my issues. I'm in an entirely different place, a much better place, all thanks to him. Before seeing Dan, I was an anxiety-riddled recluse, convinced that my lot in life was the best I was going to do. He was always very accommodating when it came to the format I wished to conduct therapy (video call, by phone, etc.) and was respectful of my time and considerate on the occasions when I had to reschedule. I highly recommend Dan to anyone who knows that need help, as well as those who don't fully understand the extent to which they need help, like myself just a few years ago.

Dan was very helpful as I dealt with an alcoholic family member. He had me change my mindset to focus on myself and only control the situations that I could, and in doing so, removed the stress from my life. I couldn't be more happier with our sessions.

My husband and I started seeing Dan when our marriage was in crisis. Dan was warm, funny, and good at managing two poor communicators who don't particularly like talking about their feelings. It is evident that he truly cares about the well being of his patients. I don't know where I would be or where my marriage would be without Dan's help. I am so thankful that we ended up with him as our counselor.

Dan Kane came in to my life when I really needed someone to talk to. From the beginning it felt like we were long lost friends catching up. Dan was so easy to talk to and also listened very well. He also would ask me tough questions that would get me thinking. I would find that time would fly been when I would conversate with Dan. He would bring up things I said weeks prior and get me to elaborate on them so easily. I would recommend Dan Kane to anyone who needs someone to talk to and listen to. He has a special way with words that get your mind thinking. I will always remember things that he told me about myself. And also funny stories we shared with each other. I have been a patient of Dan off and on for around almost 10 years. He is skilled at getting you to talk openly without force. He's compassionate, understanding, no nonsense. He is very transparent when he gives his thoughts on what he hears from you without being judgmental. He has helped me get through some childhood as well as adult traumas. I am at a really positive place in my life now because of Dan's help.

Dan is an active listener. He is very easy to talk to, and set me at ease with his pleasant, empathetic demeanor. I highly recommend him.

He was very judgemental. I did not want to go back. I did not feel comfortable and felt he was not invested in my treatment and was very distracted by the time and other trivial things. I am very surprised he is in private practice and he was very hurtful with his words.
