He was very rude and unprofessional Do not see this “doctor”

I met with Dr. Lane July of 2021 and he still has not completed the report we promised would be done at the end of that month. I have filed a complaint with the Virginia Department of Health Professions. Please do not utilize his services. He took my money and gave me absolutely nothing in return.

I did a mental health evaluation for court proceedings with him. I do not recommend if you are a victim of abuse. He is not very understanding or well versed in the psychological impact of abuse. Furthermore, he is very non responsive to questions via email and phone communications.

Chris Lane is a poor excuse for a therapist and a waste of money. He makes contested court cases more difficult to solve and recover. He chooses sides, doesn't listen to children, and has no interest to help moderate emotional abuse. After Chris Lane was off our case I ended up with full custody of children from an emotionally abusive ex. Chris Lane was paid thousands of dollars for making things worse, for the kids and adults. Read this before you think about using Chris Lane for anything. He is the therapist who advocated and supported children being forcibly removed from their mother, taken under the cover of night, to an out of state reunification program with their father. Chris Lane is a messed up authoritarian and should not hold a license to practice as a therapist. It won't let me post a link. Dr. Lane listens to one parent, and not the adolescent. He pushed me to abandon my beliefs as a Christian, saying "i was once a pastor, i know its fake." His memory is nonexistent, taking "notes" every time but then asking "wellll.. what did we talk about last time?" every single meeting. He wasn't asking that to see if we remembered, he would admit that he genuinely remembered nothing from our last session. He was never prepared, never reviewed his notes, and overall useless. Avoid wasting thousands of dollars and emotional exhaustion, go to someone else.

Dr. Lane tested my ex-husband against the DSM-III, and me against the DSM-IV, during the 1995 contested custody case for our then 3 year old son. My ex- is a "dark triad" personality and Dr. Lane wrote him up as being "self -protective." After more than two years of me being forcibly monitored, I was granted SOLE custody of our son by the Courts. I was making over $175k a year and Dr. Lane judged me as being loopy enough that he was surprised I could balance my own checkbook. Manipulative man.

Dr Lane is one of the best in his field!

Total waste of time and money dealing with this Parent Coordinator. Charges you, does nothing to reduce conflict, doesn't follow-up on his next steps, and in fact exacerbates the situation by being unresponsive. His memory is like a sieve, he's disrespectful, and overall not recommended.
