I was ordered by the court to have a psychological evaluation because my ex made me sound crazy. I was afraid Dr. Mellen would side with my ex wife because she told me that she would be talking to my ex wife. I already had a previous evaluation and that person listened to everything my exwife said. Dr. Mellen was different. She gave me a chance to respond to everything my exwife said and give her proof that I was telling the truth. She still recommended that I had to take some parenting classes and counseling to get over being resentful of my exwife and I was upset about that. in counseling I realized how angry I was and have learned how to be a better person for my child. I thank God everyday that Dr. Mellen did my evaluation because I get to have my child half the time.

She was very comforting and my child that has a hard time expressing feelings, felt very safe discussing issues with her. I have taken my child to three other providers prior to Dr. Mellen and it was a very disappointing experience when my child did not open up to any of those three. I was skeptical and felt at a loss at continuing to find someone, but I am so grateful that my child opened up to her. It has only been a couple of months but the positive changes are astounding!

I was upset getting her report , it was expensive and I didn't get a single thing I wanted except to complete some counseling I would get time with my child. In counseling I realized that she was right on and I'm grateful that she did not recommend I have time with my child then, as I was. I have gone back to read the reviews again and I realized that all those angry people must be people that paid alot of money and didn't get what they wanted.Dr. Mellen was fair, honest and knowledgeable.

It's very scary to be court ordered to put your parenting future in the hands of a stranger. My attorney warned me that no matter the result, neither party may be happy. Dr. Mellen was both comforting and fair. She did not judge or lecture. She was AMAZING with our daughter and put her feelings and welfare first. It's been 2 months since the case is over and my daughter still asks if we can go visit Dr. Mellen. If you have a choice, I would definitely reccomend Dr. Carol Mellen. Class act!

Dr. Mellen is simply wonderful, fair, and definitely knowledgeable. She is smart and professional who really cares. My kids (they are usually very shy) love her even only see her couple of times. My own interactions with her are very delightful and helpful. Even though she is not my own counselor, she just helps me and kids so much during the difficult time. Would recommend her to anyone.

Created a horrible evaluation that was entirely one sided. Everything she believed to be true from that one side proved to be false immediately and has created a nightmare living situation for our daughters who have true stability and structure in one home and nothing that resembles that in the location Dr Mellenchose. Her judgement and ability to assess deceitful and borderline personality are lacking, as is her ability to constructively evaluate both sides of a family case. DO NOT recommend

Dr. Mellen do not want know nothing about the case, she have sited only to the parent who had been paid her service. It's unnoprporiate to trust her decisions. Because those children going back to the parent with mental disability with serious diagnostic as Bipolar disorder or Schizoprenia and under their abuse again.

I feel bad for anyone who is sent to this women by the court system it is such a Racket, Being a contractor myself I would love to have a contract like Carol has. Carol can burn up money in a blink of an eye! Carol did nothing to help Mitigate my ex and I's problems, but from my side there is no helping my ex, she uses the system to get through life food stamps, EBT, state funded insurance, child support, cry to the courts. However I did believe Carol did see through her.

the most money hungry person i have ever met. She took over one year to complete an evaluation and kept asking for retainer fees. She did not follow APA guidelines as far as conducting her evaluation. extremely unorganized and biased. I was at a disadvantage financially compared to my ex husband which led her to be in favor of him. Did not see the children but maybe 3 times during this entire evaluation. Extremely incompetent. I have reported her to board of psychological examiners.

Word on the street in family law is that Dr. Carol Mellen is senile. She doesn't care if she traumatizes or ambushes your children as long as her pockets are padded. She quickly finds out who is paying her and then those individuals may as well write the reports for her. Stay away from this women. She insist you come in and a threatening way for an appointment but then learned her retainer has ran out and threatens to cancel appointments. The environment is not conducive to children . Horrible!
