I have never been to a gastroenterologist before, but I at least expected an abdominal assessment of some kind and a feigning of interest in what brought me in to seek out a specialist. Never palpated my abdomen or used a stethoscope, I don’t know how even a visual assessment was done with me wearing a hoodie. I do not recommend this provider.

Visit 1: he suggested a supplemental medication to complement my primary medication. He prescribed tests. His notes: riddled with errors. Visit 2: A. he had no recall whatever of visit 1 or of the treatment plan from visit 1. He simply asked what I'm doing. B. when I asked, he could not recall my primary medication. C. he did not review test results that he prescribed in visit 1. D. when shown the supplemental medication, he made some kind of vague gesture. E. a while later he asked if I took the supplemental medication. I pointed to the bottle that I'd asked him about earlier. I got a vacant look. F. I gave him a list of errors in his notes from the first visit. I accompanied the list with a copy of his notes. I received no assurance he would look at the corrections, let alone make the corrections. Carl Wheeler dissociated himself totally from my care. He had no interest in taking an in-depth look at and making a concerted effort to participate in my health care.
