Dr. Carl Sovine, PHD

I have loved Dr. Sovine. When my husband and I were having serious issues, he was able to get to the bottom line of the problem. I have recommended him to others. I agree that there are different approaches that counselors use. Some talk and give you a lot of information. Dr. Sovine will listen and then put his thumb on the problem. I've learned to talk fast when sharing my issue, so I get more of his wisdom.

Run not walk: If you are a couple seeking healing and restoration, I would NOT recommend Carl. He takes a victim mentality approach which is extremely detrimental to a marriage seeking healing. I highly recommend looking for someone who uses proven techniques that is backed by research.

Warning: very old school and antiquated approach. Would absolutely not recommend him for marriage counseling. He admits that no one else uses his approach (probably for very good reasons). If you are married and having issues, PLEASE find a good counselor. If you do choose to see him, you will feel like you are walking into an untrained Baptist preacher's office in 1965. Plenty of great counselors in Fort Wayne, so don't choose Carl and his out of date and out of touch ideas and methods.

I would give 10 star review if I could; Carl gives council from a lifetime of experience, he is brilliant and comes up with solutions that are needed for you when you may not even know they were the problem. Every second in his office is like years of your life in the future you can live in peace because of what he tells you. Carl does not hold back and will go through everything you maybe didn’t want to but what you needed to. You will do well if you do what he says he is a doctor of healthy lifestyle habits and mental rehabilitation through steps you can actually take and things you can do.
