Beth Wanamaker

Beth Wanamaker had only held a license as a Psychologist Associate, which means she should have always been working under the direct supervision of a licensed psychologist. Her lack of experience and education has had profound negative effects on many families.

I have had several supervisors, know others that have been supervised by supervisors in the area, and Dr. Beth is the best one around. She is knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, and her intentions are good for the kids. Her rules are excellent to keep both parents honest, and her documentation of each visit is exactly what the courts need to see. I recommended her to anyone that requires a supervisor.

Dr. Beth was very helpful with a difficult situation. She was kind, understanding and offered insights that were invaluable. Her reports are very detailed and were a fair reflection of what occurred during visits. She was always professional, flexible and really did care about our son. She was able to move our situation forward in ways that other supervisors couldn’t. She will always be a Hero to me for being a guardian Angel to our son.

Please, whomever is reading this. DO NOT let this woman near your children. That is all.

Dr Beth clearly explained the expectations and the parameters of the supervise visits. She told me exactly where to be, and what time to be there, and what the ground rules were. After that, I naturally interacted with my children, without concern of being under an observational eye. After reading her report, I felt it was more than a fair review of my time with my children, and it in fact, moved me to read someone’s observation of our time together.

First of all, my children have had several professional supervisors over the past decade, and Dr Wanamaker is by far the best. She provides a space for the children to interact authentically with the other parent, and maintains a safe environment for the visits to take place. She communicates neutrally and keeps professional boundaries. Her reports are detailed and it is evident that she is observant and aware of all of the complicated aspects at play in a supervised visit. When necessary, she intervened to prevent inappropriate behavior from escalating. I highly recommend Dr. Wanamaker, and if supervised visits occur in the future I will be seeking out her services again.

Dr. Beth has an incredibly difficult job and I am so grateful for her caring and thorough approach. She was prompt and professional in all of her communications and always greeted us with a calm smile, my boys felt very comfortable with her right away. She handled the interactions with my very difficult, manipulative ex in a very professional manner and her Visit Narrative Reports were very detailed - which I greatly appreciated. I can imagine that the negative reviews that have been written are from angry parents who didn't like being held accountable by Beth - but that's her job!!!

My daughters and I had a great experience with Beth. Her reports are held with high regard within the family court system because of her detailed account of each visit. She is willing to offer help if you ask. When their father was trying to keep me from visiting my children she logged and shared that information as well. Beth is looking at what you show her and sometimes we show we need better parenting skills? Be open and willing in all aspects of family court, because this is for the children. Not for mothers and fathers. Just saying…. And thank you Beth!

Beth Wanamaker is amazing at what she does. A true professional, her reports are informative and are returned in a timely manner. She keeps neutral while allowing parents to feel heard and focuses solely on the child's well-being. I feel like she truly cares about the families she is servicing. Beth went above and beyond my expectations, providing us with the much needed tools and to learn how to peacefully co parent. My son absolutely adores her and we will truly miss our visits with Beth.

I am super grateful for Dr. Wanamaker. She has been supporting our child for over a year and absolutely knows manipulation when she sees it. I was so concerned about my partners Narc/sociopath behaviors but she is amazing with boundaries and not easily manipulated. My child felt really comfortable with her and from what I read on the reports she tried to maintain space to keep it as natural as possible. Her updates were timely and she was easy to schedule with and has weekends for us working folks. For those who are scared and sick from crazymaking, gaslighting and lies, Dr. Wanamaker will give you some peace of mind when you drop your babies.

Dr. Beth is an absolute treasure and truly gifted at her job. I was supervised with my children and she made the process as natural and comfortable as possible. My children felt safe and supported by her and knew that she was an ally for our family. What is really fantastic, is that she has a natural way of blending in so that we were able to just forget she was with us and we could be ourselves. After visitation, she provided our family (to both parents) a detailed narrative of the visit. It was factual, and did not state feelings or opinions. She is great at maintaining and reinforcing boundaries to keep neutrality in a loving and supportive way. Not once did I feel shamed, judged or as if I had to put on a front. Our family will truly miss our visits with dr beth and we are so grateful and thankful we found her! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Beth is incompetent at her job. She discriminates against fathers. Please read reviews on this site and other sites. She puts ASD children in harms way of abusers. She is dispicable and should have her license reported. She is a disgrace to her profession. I have spoken to other therapists and they are appalled by her.

Dr. Wanamaker is the ONLY supervisor in Sonoma County whom I would recommend for supervised visitation. We had worked with five different supervisors prior to working with Dr. Wanamaker and she is BY FAR the best in terms of professionalism, honesty, attentiveness, and diligence.

I notice the comments bashing Dr. Wanamaker seem to come from angry people, people who feel like victims of the system, and people who prefer to vent rather than offer even-tempered negative reviews. These are traits she undoubtedly sensed when she met with these reviewers, and which I would imagine informed her decisions as a court recommending counselor. In my experience, she read a huge detailed file, remembered it all at mediation, heard my child, and sniffed out lies with an uncanny nose.

This "professional" supports physical and emotional abuse of children as long as the abuser is female. This "professional " takes children from loving fathers without regard for any facts in the case. What she doesn't know, she makes up and in doing so, perpetuates the abhorrently shameful bias against males in the family court. If you have complaints against this individual regarding children's safety issues being ignored in favor of the female of a case report her license, like I'm going to do

This lady is a disgrace to the profession and should be banned from making any decisions that effect the life or wellbeing of a child. She is completely unprofessional and very biased. She had her mind made up before I even opened my mouth. She didn't bother to look at the paperwork right in front of her. During mediation she she was terrible. In her final report she made mistakes on almost everything that was agreed upon and added all sorts of restrictions that were never discussed. REMOVE HER!

Absolutely terrible. Shocking level of bias in a position that's supposed to be objective. Very sad this women is still working with Sonoma County. Very disturbing.
