I initially selected this provider after reviewing her website, and reading about her approach. I was most excited to see that she combines cognitive-behavioral and psychoanalytic techniques when conceptualizing and intervening with patients. I stayed with this provider because I found her to be warm, empathic and genuine. She is also quite straight-forward, and will frequently challenge me to consider alternatives or a differing perspective. As someone who has been in therapy at various points over my life, I can assure you that it would actually be odd to not experience a sort of 'tension' around some content or in the room with your therapist. I have found that this is usually exactly where we need to be. I have been pleased to find and work through those points with the support of Dr. Fineberg. Similar to hiring a personal trainer at a gym, you wouldn't want someone who just sat on the side & never challenged or helped you to grow. She is professional, kind, sharp, and supportive.

I came in to see Dr. Fineberg to assist in the work that my partner was doing with her. It seemed we were often fighting after he would have a session and I thought it might help if she met me. I found her to be incredibly rude, dismissive, and arrogant. I thought, whew, we're in trouble if he continues with her. Luckily he changed therapists and we now doing wonderfully.

Dr. Fineberg was my psychologist when I was a teenager going through a very difficult time and later, in my late 20’s, when I was dealing with a crumbing marriage. She’s been a solid resource for me as I’ve navigated through my life.

I felt Dr. Fineberg to be judgmental and wholly unprofessional. After one meeting it was clear that she felt she knew more about my marriage than I did. At one point I was literally mocked. The absolute worst therapeutic experience of my life.
