Dr. Bernard Hershenberg, PHD

I have known Dr Hershenberg for 8 years and found him to be a brilliant clinician, very well read, insightful in his judgement, and skilled in his therapeutic session. He has helped me to get through very difficult times. I highly recommend him and would recommend him to family members or friends.

Dr. Hershenberg is an excellent psychologist and very intelligent. Our whole family has been to him from time to time for a wide range of life issues. Even our teenage son, who complained the whole way there, loved talking to him. He was recommended to us by a friend who simply said “Dr. Hershenberg is our life coach”. Ironically, I now consider him our family life coach. I would highly recommend him to anyone with any issue big or small.

I first treated with Dr. Hershenberg over 20 years ago to deal with the illness and subsequent death of my husband. Through the years I have returned to his practice for various reasons. He has always been extremely professional. His treatment is empirically based, data driven, empathetic, kind and compassionate. I like that he doesn’t solely focus on just the “how does it make you feel,” but rather also incorporates skills and tactics for moving forward. At one point I had my spouse attend a few sessions and I was impressed with Dr. Hershenberg’s ability to make him feel comfortable and really get to know him as a person and listen to his needs. I high recommend Dr. Hershenberg.

My family has been connected to Dr. Hershenberg for over ten years, and I have been a patient of his for the last year. He has been nothing but helpful to me, and provided a positive, safe, and comfortable environment for my personal growth. Dr. Hershenberg is a reliable source that has the knowledge, and skill set needed to assist his patients in whatever challenges they face. He is one of the most bright and intelligent people that I have ever met. I have always been so fascinated with the unique strategies and ideas he has come up with. I never thought I would enjoy going to therapist as much as I do with Dr. Hershenberg. I would recommend him to anyone at any point in their lives, and would consider him a 10/10 in all areas of his practice.

Dr. Hershenberg has gotten me through the toughest times of my life. I have been a patient of his for 12 years, and I could not be more satisfied with his services. I was initially apprehensive about going to therapy, and I had tried several therapists before, none of which were anywhere near as good as Dr. Hershenberg. I was not beginning to think that I would not find a therapist that I felt comfortable with, but as soon as I met Dr. Hershenberg, I felt immediately comfortable and like he understood everything I was going through. He is extremely intelligent, is of the utmost character and integrity, and his ability to strategize and to provide individualized techniques to combat stressors is extraordinary. It is rare to find a person you can trust and be vulnerable with in the hardest of times, and Dr. Hershenberg is that for me and all of his patients. Dr. Hershenberg truly is the best around, and I would recommend him to anyone.

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Hershenberg for nearly 20 years. In my opinion he is an excellent physician. He is extremely intelligent. Very knowledgeable in his field. He explains things in a way which is easy to understand and unlike one of the reviews above I find it comforting when he uses his own family as comparison to situations in my own life. It is very helpful. Dr. Hershenberg has guided me and my family through extraordinarily difficult times and continues to do so. I have been to several psychologists/therapists in my lifetime and I can honestly say that Dr. Hershenberg is the best. For as long as he practices he will be my doctor.

Years ago this physician tried to Misdiagnose me because I knew in fact my ex husband was cheating on me. I knew all the signs and felt his lies. This physician dId NOT no his stuff in any way, shape or form in my life scenario. I’m SHOCKED he still is in practice and even has a licence... still. PLEASE CHOOSE WISELY when in research of a physician ESPECIALLY mental health GOD BLESS.

I found him very good at first but he seemed to lose interest after awhile. He also talked too much about his family when giving examples. There were pictures of his daughters what were scantly dressed. This seemed inappropriate to me to have in a psychiatrist office. This was several years ago but am trying to give eval so folks can choose more wisely.
