Ava Charney-Danysh, MFT

I visited Ava Charney-Danysh for over a year, waiting for something to break through in our time. If I knew what I know now, I would've looked elsewhere. I feel like I was strung along just to fill out her schedule, and she didn't seem to take a very active role in our weekly meetings. While I will give that it's common for therapists to be mindful of time, I'd see her eyes flicking over to the clock on the table so often that I couldn't help but wonder if she really was listening, or getting antsy for the end of the session. There's also to consider that she'd constantly forget details I would share, or even segue into talking about herself (she told me about her kibbutz stay more than once, forgetting she had mentioned it). She would maybe ask one or two general questions throughout, but wouldn't elaborate after my answer.I can't say that I got anything from our time, and I really tried. She could've noted early on that we might not work out, but she didn't. Over a year wasted.
