I was experiencing chronic low back, neck, and hip pain. My friend, who saw him regularly, recommended AJ. I'd never been to a chiro before. AJ did a history and evaluation the first time I visited and then proceeded to the adjustment. The first time went well and I actually experienced the most relief. That's why I kept returning. However, I never should have been to a chiropractor as I was recently diagnosed with a connective tissue disorder caused by faulty collagen (Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder). The last time I saw AJ - which was at least 2 years ago - my hips kept "popping out" when I walked, which caused horrible pain. After a day or so, it settled down. Anyone with joint hypermobility problems is advised not to seek a chiropractor as it can cause damage to the tendons and ligaments. I did not know this and I have not seen one since. I've found a great physical therapy place that does massage and they know about HSD.
