Easy to get an appointment. Got to DMU (Grand Ave. in Des Moines) with some extra time; filled out basic info. & medical history forms. (New patients will be glad to know that there is a *free* parking garage/'ramp' immediately adjacent to the Clinic, so whatever the weather (looking at those of you who are waiting to make an appt due to potential for snow), you won't have to clean off your vehicle!Go down to the 1st fl of the parking ramp, cross the sidewalk maybe 15 feet, and enter the Clinic building. Take the elevators up.This person is a medical *professional* -- no doubt about it: 5-star in first impressions (makes eye contact, rather than only checking a computer screen), 5-star in medical knowledge and in **carefully explaining** that info. to the patient, and 5-star in being personable (i. e., *not* being overly chatty, nor being 'gruff', the way many family docs in the past have acted).Receptionists: 5-star. Clinic super clean. Try it!

Recently I saw April Vargus and have been seeing her for years and she spends sooo much time with you and makes sure she has answered all of your questions. I DO NOT agree with the above review. I think she saw someone else. It couldnt be April.

I absolutely love April! Any time I have questions or need to get something checked out, she comes in with no hesitation. She is always smiling and friendly and she cares about her patients just like you'd hope she would! She has a great personality and she is a great teacher. She is patient and she is very kind! I couldn't ask for a better doctor!

If u want a provider who acts annoyed about seeing you, by all means choose this one. It’s like having one of the mean girls be response for your health. The fact that she teaches is just disturbing.
