In my session with my daughter, I noticed Tony extending his legs straight out from his chair-- an old trick to keep awake. I used to do the same thing in church. I also noticed that his notes would trail off in little scribbles-- the way my notes looked when I would doze off in class back in the day. And then the long blinks, head bobs. All the while my daughter is going on and on with her account of events. A good counselor would have stepped in on multiple occasions so that there would be an opportunity to address an issue. By the time she had concluded I didn't know where even to begin. I tried to address one of the matters and referenced a detail of the account my daughter had given. Tony laughed and said, "What?" Somehow he missed the fact that my daughter had mentioned throwing a bagel at me. Yeah, hilarious, Tony.
