There isn't enough room to tell you all the good she has done, not only for me but my family as well. If you are looking for a GI psychologist then look no further. She is the best.

Dr. Montero is an excellent and genuine therapist. She truly wants her patients to succeed in their therapy and finds ways to help her patients bring out the core of the issue that needs to dealt with. Of course, the patient has to be a willing participant in that journey as well. I have had several other therapists over the years and Dr. Montero is by far the best I've had the pleasure to work with and feel we will actually meet the goals we have established. Even though it's not always fun or comfortable to face things that need to be changed in my life, Dr. Montero's approach is gentle but straight-forward when helping me to discover what I need. I believe what you'll get out of your sessions is what you put into them and I highly recommend Dr. Montero!!

I wish I could say I had a good experience with Dr. Montero. I did at first but after a few visits, she told me something that just hit me the wrong way. I'm a stepparent, a good one, and an involved one by choice and preference of (almost) everyone involved. Due to the issues we have with our coparent, Dr. Montero felt it appropriate to say this: "You know how to get better, you know that, right?" I did not know how to get better. I have Gastroparesis with no cure. She told me I needed to back off from the situation with my step kids and be completely hands off and that would make me better. So.. I did not go back. She clearly didn't know who I was as a person, hadn't taken the time to know me or my situation, and made a generalization that doesn't work in most cases. I chose to be a stepparent and there is no backing off from being a parent. What a joke. And what a horrific thing to say to someone struggling. I needed ways to cope, not ways to exit my life.

This doctor shouldn’t be a doctor at all. My cancer doctor send me to see this doctor for the very first time. l had breast cancer and l was having chemotherapy and dealing with chemo fog brain. I went to see dr Montero because my doctor said she deal with that. This doctor had called Carmel police on me had me obtained and had me send to a sanatorium in a private ambulance l was stripped naked in her statement to the doctor in the sanatorium. l was plucking out my hair and l was trying to hurt myself the doctor at the sanatorium said this doctor must be crazy. Why would she send a cancer patient to a sanatorium and say she plucked her hair out. And l was trying to hurt myself what is wrong with this doctor to put a cancer patient through all of this. The doctor said l am sending you home now! After my medical doctor heard what Montero had done to me she called IU hospital board to let them know she was unprofessional to handle any patients and what she did to a cancer patient.

She's a great actress. I thought that Dr Montero was kind when I saw her, but then I saw my medical record... Although she had acted kind and validating while we were together, the amount of disdain and condescension she put in her report was heartbreaking. Working with her has been a crushing experience, especially because she seemed so empathetic in person while hiding the nature of her dispassionate, clinically cold attitude underneath. As a patient, her secretive and judgmental analysis felt like a massive violation of trust, and I feel silly for having believed she genuinely wanted to help me.

saw her for 1 initial visit/eval and never came back! she's so judgmental, belittles and is so arrogant. I went to her because my GI doctor referred me and sooo many other providers just rave about her expertise, Gosh how on earth is she a psychiatrist? why would I ever want to open up about my personal issues with someone that makes me feel insignificant and small, NOT ME! She is the absolute Worst!

I had to pay out of pocket and she meet with me two times before telling me she won't help me until I stop my addiction. So, I waited 4 or 5 months for her to say she wouldn't help unless I stopped my addition which my doctor knows I have and even thinks it helps my condition. So, this whole time I could have been looking elsewhere. She was 15 minutes late both times online. Not impressed at all. They don't return phone calls. Took several tries and messages to get an appointment. I never heard of a therapist refusing to help someone with issues. There job is to try and help the best they can. Don't go to her if are have serious problems because it hard to get appointments, she always late, and you have to meet certain things for her to even see you. She was referred to me by my doctor and they were suppose to call and schedule an appointment but it took over a month to even get a call. I had to call my doctor's secretary to try to find the number because no one was calling.

Dr. Montero has taken the time to really get to know me and help me explore the impact my mental health has on my physical health. With her guidance and support, I have been able to make major progress in all areas of my life. She is very supportive and insightful. She helped me to understand my self and helped me become a better human. I would not have made all the personal growth in the past few years without her. I have also gained control of the health issues I was struggling with when I was referred to her.

It took over 2 weeks and 2 phones calls from my referring physician to Dr. Montero to even get an appointment date. Then the appointment date (2 more weeks away) came in the form of a letter in the mail. I received no phone call asking me when I was available to come in. I was TOLD when to be there. I cancelled the appointment. If you are going to trust your emotional well-being to a psychologist it's best if you're treated with respect from the beginning. Otherwise, what's the point?

I went to Dr. Montero as she was highly recommended. Unfortunately, she engages in patient blaming, refused to acknowledge that my pain (due to IBS and fibro) is real, and insisted that my pain came from some long lost trauma or psycho-social reason when neither is the case. Overall, she left me feeling invalidated and even more frustrated than I was before seeing her. She was arrogant, rude and made me feel like my illness was my fault. I would highly discourage anyone from seeing her.

Dr. Montero TRULY cared about me & my very problematic medical history. She is, by far, one of THE MOST, attentive doctors that I have EVER had!! She was EXTREMELY sincere, clearly articulating to me what she felt was best. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU, Dr. Montero, for all that did for me!! You know, some people are extra special, truly blessed by Jesus Christ, in that they have that "WOW FACTOR"... And, well, as for me, "CONGRATULATIONS!!", Dr. Montero, YOU are one of those people!

This was my first time seeing a psychiatrist. I am truly shocked at how compassionate, professional, and knowledgeable she is about my condition (Spasmodic Torticollis/pain). Even though I did not feel I was suffering from depression, she pointed out the areas in my life that clearly showed I was more depressed than I thought. She put me on a path for my recovery and to get my life back! I strongly urge anyone who is considering seeing a psychiatrist to seek her out. Highly recommended!!!

Dr. Montero taught me how to calm my body down by breathing techniques and keeping my body in a straight line when I am in severe abdominal pain instead of curling up into a ball. The techniques really have made a difference, severely shortening the length and frequency of the gi attacks. I have been suffering them for years and no one had been able to help me. I can not recommend her more highly.

Not worth my time. She cannot help people with true motility diseases as she has limited knowledge of true GI disease. She engages in blame the patient mentality.

I was skeptical about therapy when I first went to the doctor. God often puts people into your life and I definitely believe He sent me to her. It's clear that she cares patiently for her patients and it is quite clear that she is excellent in her field. To find someone with intelligence and the ability to show compassion, is a very rare thing. I still have a few more sessions with her and I am quite confident that my quality of life will improve. I would highly recommend her anytime!
