Not always professionally oriented and not consistently mindful of therapist/client boundaries. Not always respectful of past trauma or triggers when making decisions that impacted me as the client and were not in my best interest. Countertransference was not managed and affected me and the quality of the therapy provided. The therapist lost sight of my presenting issues and for many months of therapy, I did not feel heard or respected and the sessions were not helpful to me. When I mentioned some of my issues with the therapeutic process, the therapist seemed defensive and more concerned with rationalizing her decisions rather than listening to feedback about how some of her decisions and attitudes affected me in a negative way. I would not entrust my mental healthcare to this therapist in the future. The countertransference and inconsistent boundaries were harmful. Terminating therapy with this therapist was the best decision for my emotional health and brought much relief to me!
