I thought I liked her until I actually had a medical issue that NEEDED intervention. I had a six week long spell of severe insomnia so I emailed her, asked for bloodwork and made an appointment. She checked minimal labs and when she came into the exam room, prior to asking any questions she said, "if you figure out insomnia, let me know" and that was it, no questions at all about what was happening. I was so tired I was initially in shock then I think I cried. Needless to say, I found a new provider, who drew a slate of labs and sent me for a sleep study (the six week stretch was the peak of long term issues), turns out I had low thyroid and severely low iron. She's nice enough until you actually need a skilled assessment.

She's quick, rushes through questions, types everything you tell her, and obviously has a ton of experience. However she's very direct, and dismissive, to the point of being frustrating and rude. She mutters while she types, and if she didn't give me a printout at the end I wouldn't know what happened or what to do next after she leaves. Upon a follow-up visit that she told me to schedule with her, when I told her everything was fine she said "then why are you here?".

I have mixed feelings about this doctor. She does often follow through a refers me or looks into the issues that I have but, I often feel that meeting with her is a bit of a stressful rollercoaster. Sometimes she's perfectly plesant and other times she says things and are pretty dismissive and rude. I've had her say to me, after bringing up a concern that was interferring with my social life and work, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" Not as in, what can she do help either.

My husband, Eugene, and I couldn't say enough good things about Addie. She was our nurse practitioner when Addie practiced in Plattsburgh, NY. Addie detected my husbands heart condition. She is very professional, AND EQUALLY expresses genuine concern for her patients. As silly as this may sound, we both STILL miss Addie. We've never met a primary care giver like her. We HIGHLY recommend her!! Eugene and Frances Ashcroft

Excellent physician with a comprehensive nursing background, which means she gives thorough 360-degree care. She listens, is resourceful and intelligent, and she understands what you explain about limited resources and your "whole picture." She helps you make it work!

Adelaide Chute is an amazing choice for primary care. She is clearly intelligent, cares for her patients, and a problem solver, which are qualities that I feel lucky to have found in primary care.
