Too snarky
I felt like I was at Thanksgiving with my family. She would cut us off with a snarky, dismissive comment. We need someone who is kind and more positive.

Made a stressful divorce worse
Able to establish good rapport quickly, then betrayed my trust, gaslighted all of my concerns about increasing abuse and 'collaborative' failure following 'team' meetings, rejected constructive feedback about my traumatic experience throughout the process- hence this review. I hope it helps others to be wary of the role of 'mental health professionals' in divorce, particularly when not bound by the ethical guidelines of their profession.

Big mistake ***STAY AWAY***
Does not understand contracts and divorce decrees, fails to implement the requirements and then makes vailed threats that you will be in contempt of court. Does little to anything to build trust and is way too expensive.

Disappointing
I used Abby during my divorce and post judgement. Like other reviewers have stated she is not good at detecting a narcissist. My ex husband knew and loved this about Abby as he could lie and twist facts all he wanted during our meeting. In which Abby would look at me and gasp as if I were such a treacherous women. And when I tried to defend myself, she scolded me as being threatening. Mediation is supposed to be a neutral environment, however this is not the case with my experience in working with Abby Cole. During post judgment meditation, she told my ex husband he didn’t have to pay for clubs or extra curricular activities if he chose not to. Ever since our meeting, he has refused to help pay for what is stated in our court documents using Abby’s excuse. This made our situation worse, to the point I needed to seek legal advice. Please beware of using this woman.

Dr. Cole lacks any understanding of personality disorders. As another client indicated, she seems ignorant about narcissistic personality disorder. Highly recommend seeking another professional.

Abby was our divorce coach during a collaborative divorce two years ago and she continues to help us with co-parenting our two teenage sons. Abby has been professional, objective/ neutral, and supportive throughout the process of divorce and continues to help us navigate the new family dynamics. Her expertise, experience, and thoughtful guidance is an invaluable part of our family's ability to create a new constructive "norm". Everyone is happier, healthier and better than they ever were before.

Do not utilize her as a coparenting counselor if you are divorcing an abusive person (especially a narcissist). She displayed a complete lack of knowledge and understanding about that type of situation. Her advice was repeatedly to “be nice so that he would be more likely to be nice to me”. As if that has ever worked with an abusive narcissist. It was a frustrating waste of money when I truly was seeking help.
