He is blunt. If you don't want the truth, don't seek help from him.He won't waste your time if he can't help you.He expects you to do the work or practice what he tells you to practice. He expects you to take seriously what he explains and what he points out.He has no time for liars or for disrespectful people.If you want help, he is amazingly helpful. If you are just going through the motions because your wife or husband says to go or because the school sends you, save your time and money - he'll see right through your disingenuous character and throw you out. He has no patience for liars.

Dr. Hoorwitz is a very competent psychologist, he has years of experience, he is wise and knows what he is doing. From my personal experience, he was able to help me work through my issues. I have had him on and off for years and he has always helped me. I am not sure about the negative reviews, I find it odd but I suppose it’s a matter of finding a therapist that is compatible with you. Maybe the people that left negative reviews simply did not just match well with him. I recommend you at least try a session with him if you have been trying to find an effective psychologist that knows how to deal with a variety of issues. He listens, evaluates the situation, clearly explains things and is generally accommodating.

Horrible experience. Took our teenager here, who suffers from social anxiety and depression. Because our son didn't answer fast or clear enough he threw us out of his office. We were there about 10 minutes.. he asked our son 2 questions, and then said he could not help us in any way.. Our son said about 2 mumbled words, then laughed once. At which point, this horrible example of complete arrogance said our son wasn't respectful enough.. If we were not actually there, we would not believe this review either.

Disgraceful! Very little interest in our problem. He repeatedly asked if we wanted to return.. as if we were finished. He perked up when I reminded him he was a child specialist. He re-stated our problem, then gave up. Take MY advice, not his.. find yourself a different doctor.
