Dr. Zahid Afzal, MD

Dr Afzal is awesome. His scheduling and office staff are rude, condescending and not nice. They never answer the phone and rarely return calls. I recently posted negative review on google about this and when they called me back they were insulted and angry. That speaks volumes about this complaint. Again, they not nice, not helpful, and nasty about scheduling. I going elsewhere, despite the doctor being excellent.

I’ve been going to Dr.Afzal for several years now and I think he’s one of the best out there.The staff is amazing especially Jamie who’s been through it all with me.Thank you all of you! I cannot say enough about Jamie as she goes above and beyond to help you through this terrible disease.Thanks again!

Dr Afzal has been my Doctor for several years and has always been kind, patient and thorough. He has been there to put my mind at ease considering my health diagnosis and my continued care. He is extremely compassionate and a great human being! I highly recommend him for all your gastro issues. You will be pleased!!!

My husband and myself recently had our colonoscopy done. all went well. thank you and your staff for all your help and great care.

Dr Afzal seems nice but his staff is not. Schedule person is rude and offers her opinions. She even hung up on my wife. Even though he is recommended by our physician it is not worth the hassle.

I was a patient for 3 years and nothing Afzal did offered me any relief for my "bowel disease." My biggest complaint is his seemingly robotic practice. He doesn't listen, he prescribes medication and sends you on your way. After digging through my medical files I discovered my bowel disease blood panel was all clear, when confronted he said my colonoscopy is what made him draw his conclusion. He is absolutely intolerant to the idea that he misdiagnosed me. Tens of thousands of dollars in treatments, pills and infusions over 3 years have done nothing. I feel ignored and no longer see Afzal. I have yet to see another GI. I lost trust in the entire system. We're just dollar signs.

don't know about the dr but his office answering staff needs to be replaced. spent 2 hrs on the phone oh hold just waiting to speak to a represensitive to schedule an appointment. Never got through.

I feel that Dr Afzal is all about the money. If your health insurance is not in the network his staff makes you feel like you are a Medicaid recipient. Even after you get a referral from your health insurance they do not tend to work with you. My experience with him & his staff was the most horrible experience l have ever went through since l’ve been with SilverCross Hospital. So make sure your health insurance is in their network or you will casted aside like you are a nobody.

I recently had a colonoscopy performed by Dr. Afzal. He was very comforting, intelligent and efficient. Hi staff is very caring. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Afzal. Dolores B.

Not good and suffering from colonoscopy procedure ever since. Chronic hemorrhoid problems with much pain. Never had problems like this prior to the procedure and will never do it again!

A doctor who cannot manage his schedule. Waited 45 minutes for the doctor. Front office staff chatting away. I would never use or recommend doctor who disrespects my time.

I found Dr Afzal to be very personable, professional, and polite, even shook my hand. Took the time to answer my questions so I could understand what was going on. Never felt rushed.

Absolute worst excuse for a doctor. His negligence was life threatening for my husband. He his a clear example of a doctor who looks as his patients as a number and not as loved one for someone else. Least caring doctor I have ever met in my life, horrible bed side manner. I would highly recommend ANY other doctor than Dr. Afzhal. Calls himself a "specialist" he could honestly not care less about his patients. I hope this review gets back to him and he shapes up, or grows a heart.

By far the least pleasant experience I've ever had with a doctor. His nurse is very rude and not good about getting back to you. Also I never get any appointments only get prescriptions written and sent to walgreens after I call and leave several messages regarding my symptoms and side effects from the strong drugs he seems to prescribe considering he never sees me. Having chrohns disease and a doctor who doesn't seem to care or have the time of day for you is beyond frustrating.
